My daughter hates Q-Tips
The other day my middle daughter Lucy was playing dolls and saying "oh april, i love you so much. april, i need a snack. april! I like snacks! I love you so much!" The cuteness of this made me slightly less angry about her calling all the men at walmart that morning creepy guys and yelling loudly as we got to the registers that she "hates old people".

Ch-ch-ch-changes
When I started this thing, I had two small children and a budding craft business. I wanted to share with people simple tutorials and how to's and promote my wares of course. But these times they are a-changing. I now have three small children, moved to the country and became less interested in all things martha stewart. Though I still have my little Etsy shop. Feel free to browse, the stuff is lovely.
Instead of starting a NEW blog I chose to edit the original one. So grow with me, people. This format makes me feel less pigeonholed.
Stay tuned.

Resolutions are for chumps

Taking a minute out of an insanely busy schedule managing three kids and a house to say Happy New Year, people! This year my non-resolution resolution is to be kinder to MYSELF and live a gentler, simpler life. I can get super carried away by all the craziness that is life. I can stress and bitch like nobody's business. I want to live a quieter life with less stuff and create happy memories for those I love most (AKA the fruit of my womb).
So if you made resolutions like getting back to the gym, going on a diet or quitting biting your nails, good luck. I just think mine will be more fun...

Friday Morning
The baby sits swinging with the sun in her eyes. #2 is going between pushing her shopping cart around and pushing her sister on the swing. #1 sits with daddy on the recliner while he naps. Happy Friday morning!
I was going to make french toast for these peeps this morning but when I got downstairs daddy had already made oatmeal....perhaps tomorrow...if they're lucky.

I am a Blogger No Show

Wow, it's been an incredibly long time since I last blogged about my little life. Our newest member arrived on June 10 at 1:00am weighing in at 8lbs on the nose. We named her Violet Mae and she has been such a joy! Sounds cliche but man is it the truth! "V" as we call her was a VBAC (I won't go into detail as this isn't that kind of blog) but it was a truly amazing experience and I was fortunate to have a doula by my side with this delivery. Something I will never forget and a gift i am truly grateful for. In fact, I hope to begin my own doula training this spring.
We're settling into this house in the country we bought almost a year ago! Why does time move so swiftly now that I have children and live a grown up life? We've made a lot of changes both inside and out and have more to make. But of course what actually gets done is all up to Old Man Moolah and we're not seeing as much of him lately.
My husband starts back to work next Monday. Though, I have to say this summer vacation was not one of my favorites and I really think it has to do with the fact that we now have a big yard and I am married to a man who loves to play in it.
My oldest is starting preschool this fall which is totally bittersweet. The other day i cried a little and she looked at me and said, "Are you crying cuz I am getting so big?" Yes, I am. I wish you could stay little forever...
Anyway, I am trying to get my Etsy shop back up and running. I had put it in vacation mode when I was preparing to have V and now I feel ready for projects again.
Crazy that this summer is almost over, seems like it just started...ha ha, here I go again with time and it's not standing still...
Hope you all had a great summer and are looking forward to autumn for each of your own reasons!
Cheers!

While they nap...

Happy 2010! This Christmas season was great for my Etsy shop! But the holidays really flew by this year especially with the move. It's hard to believe it's a new year, a new decade and here we are in a new house, in a new town, expecting a new baby. I'm due with our third on 6/5/10. And, yes, we will find out if it's a boy or a girl. I'll keep you posted.
In the meantime, I really want to get back to my sewing machine but the time I would usually spend crafting I am now spending sleeping. I had big plans for some Valentine's Day projects that now will most likely wait til next year. Ha ha!

We're here!
We're all moved in! Not totally unpacked, not decorated, not organized but IN! That's good enough for now. We just had the family room re-carpeted yesterday which was a major relief since the gentleman we bought the house from was a smoker. AND he smoked indoors, so that carpet had to GO! My hubs been busting his butt out in the yard cutting down trees and bushes with help from the bro in law.
Now my goal is to be unpacked enough that I can at least put up a Christmas tree this weekend!
Anyway, that's all for now from the country. More when we are not buried in boxes!
